Iphigenia 2024

An original play, based on Euripides’ classic text, devised by students of Drew University using the Tectonic Theatre Company’s process of Moment Work. (Lead Devising Facilitators: Jolie Tong and Lisa Brenner)

Camped on a beach, on the eve of the largest youth protest of their generation, a group of student organizers receive a threat of violence. They debate whether to risk danger to fight for what they believe in or leave and choose safety. Witnessing their struggle, Iphigenia has them re-enact her story to teach them the meaning of sacrifice.
